From James Taylor to John Hiatt to the Band, with an ample offering of original and traditional tunes, Second Wind's music moves easily among diverse styles.

The band has enjoyed unusual longevity. Lead singer Jim Sardonis, lead guitarist Jim Green, and bassist Eric Sakai began performing as Second Wind in 1987, and drummer George Rich played with Green several years earlier in a popular rock band, Union Street. Green has also played with Whiskey Sour and other bluegrass and rock groups and currently performs with Celtic fiddler Beth Telford. Sardonis is the nationally known sculptor who created the "Whale Tails" and other works on display around Vermont and the country.

Guitarist Ed Burgess, veteran of a host of local bands, including the Jeannie McCullough Band and One Eye Open, takes over on lead when Green plays mandolin. Burgess also shines on slide guitar when the music heads south into Allman Brothers country.

Rounding out the band's lineup is percussionist Ralph Molinario. Molinario has worked with the band for over a decade as sound engineer and spiritual advisor. Now onstage as a performer, he adds conga and other percussion flavors, as well as a dash of harp and accordion to the band's tasty sonic stew.
